Olé Premier Scores With Nelson Duo

Darrell Hannah

The Olé Premier Academy has signed two of the South Island’s most exciting young talents, Darrell Hannah and Furkan Kokcu.  Olé Football Academy’s Director of Player Development James Prosser is excited about the potential of these players. “We are very excited about working with Furkan and Darrell and the potential they bring to the table. Both boys attended our US Uni Prep Camp this past July so we’re familiar with their strengths and playing styles.  We look forward to developing them further, both on and off the field, in order to best prepare them for their academic and footballing futures.” says Prosser.

Kokcu is a member of the Nelson College 1st XI football squad and competed at the 2011 Lotto Premier Boys New Zealand Secondary Schools Football Championship. Furkan’s talents have led him to having trials in Turkey with European giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. “Furkan is a very mature and intelligent young man. As a player, he has a great technical foundation and can develop into a player with the ability to control the tempo of the game, or break down defenses to create goal scoring opportunities. His abilities are uncommon within the NZ football scene” says Olé Director Nate Winkel.

Hannah is a key member of the Nelson Suburbs 1st Team, playing in the Mainland Premier League and was also a member of the Nelson Suburbs U19 squad which won the Tsunami South Island U19 Football Championship. “Darrell is a very tough and athletic player with some unique physical abilities. As he learns to leverage these unique strengths and polishes his technique, he is going to be a handful to deal with on both sides of the ball. He is a player that is already attracting the attention of US coaches” says Winkel.
