Olé Premier Academy Strengthens With Further Additions

Cory Brown (R)

The Olé Premier Academy’s roster for 2012 continues to strengthen with the additions of Cory Brown and Harry Morton.

Cory Brown is a left-sided player who plays for Nelson Suburbs and Naylands College in Nelson.  He can play both sides of the ball, is strong in the tackle and in the air, and is good in possession, knowing when to play quickly and when to hold on to it.

“We first saw Cory at the Lotto Premier Secondary Schools Tournament  in Napier this year and was impressed with his work rate, tenacity and personality on the field.  We then followed up with Cory at the U19 Tsunami Tournament in Christchurch over Labour weekend and again were impressed with his overall game – Cory is a warrior, a competitor, and will battle until the final whistle.  These are unique qualities that we’re excited about bringing to the group!”  says Olé’s Director of Player Development James Prosser.

Harry Morton is a centre midfielder who played for Napier City Rovers in the Pacific Premiership and also earned a call up to the Hawkes Bay United National Youth League squad. Already recognized as one of the top young footballers not only in the Napier region, but in the country, he is a versatile and dynamic midfielder who can both stop and create goals.

“Harry is a first class student-athlete who we are very excited to add to the group.  He is an intelligent and articulate young man who has already earned his NCEA Level 1 with Excellence. His performance in the classroom along with his abilities on the field will make him a very attractive prospect for US University coaches at the end of his 2 years with the Premier Academy.” says Olé Football Academy Director Nate Winkel.
